Louise Oborne is a contemporary mixed media artist currently working on paper. Her long history with scientific words and language fuels her recent preoccupation with amplifying aspects of our seen and unseen world. Louise’s drawings invert scale, magnifying what is often hidden or unnoticed, inviting the viewer into a space where perception and observation are altered.

Using a variety of natural and conventional mark-making tools, Louise probes microbiology, etymology and poetry, and challenges our notion of what is important and worth noticing.
